Но что такое электростатический разряд (ESD)? Электростатический разряд (ElectroStatic Discharge - ESD) -это быстрое высвобождение электрической энергии из источника статического электричества. Когда электрическая энергия через касание передается на какую-либо деталь или даже находится вблизи нее, то она может вызвать повреждение этой чувствительной к этому воздействию детали. Чем меньшими и более быстродейстующими становятся детали, тем сильнее в прямой пропорции растет их чувствительность.
Электростатический разряд способен изменить электрические параметры полупроводниковых приборов, испортить или разрушить их, расстроить нормальную работу электронных систем, вызвать аномалии в работе или повреждения устройств.
ESD выступает в качестве проблемы другого характера в чистых пространствах. Заряженная поверхность притягивает и удерживает загрязнения, тем самым делая затруднительным их удаление из среды.
